Follow these steps:
✅ Make your Facebook fully private.
✅ Whip your Twitter clean (if there's even a slight doubt in your mind...)
✅ If you have questionable press, see if you can get it off the web.
✅ If your address and phone number are listed online, get them off there, STAT.
2. Go in with a plan.
It pains me to see people getting visibility, with their only objective being to (hopefully) sell Flat Tummy Tea.
If you know you're about to have an opportunity that will give you 10k+ followers and don't have a strategy for your new followers to make you money long-term, you're leaving money on the table.
Ideally, you'll –
✅ Have a specific niche picked out that matches your passions
✅ Create a touching (true) story that allows viewers to fall in love with you
✅ Have a social/ content strategy to immediately create a loyal following
✅ Understand how you will monetize in the future
✅ Have a press/inquiries contact ready to go
3. Get basic media training.
Are you about to be in the public eye much more?
Learn how to –
✅ Properly answer a question while not incriminating yourself in any way
✅ Have discussions in an engaging, authentic manner
✅ Understand how you appear to the other person – and the audience
4. Get the following high-quality assets:
✅ Media kit with your story, socials, and talking points
✅ Professional imagery
✅ Linktr.ee (or an equivalent) or website with an easy way for people to contact you
5. Have a STRONG support system
The more visibility you get, the more hate you'll get – 100%, guaranteed.
You must have a robust support system to remind you to "f*ck the haters" and focus on the people who are going to care about you... and buy what you are selling.
You're also better off with a boutique agency than a massive firm to help you navigate your next stage of life.
